Last night the entire Meese family and about 200 or so of their friends
jammed into Twist and Shout for a night of good music and good
feelings.
It really felt nice to see these guys on top of the world. We have been
lucky enough to have had a front row seat to their great American
success story. From their first EP to the completion of their great new
album Broadcast it has been really fun watching them grow as
musicians
and individuals. Last night they showed themselves to be completely
professional musicians and really sweet individuals. They played their
entire new album (which we sold a ton of on its first day) and the
crowd
ate it up reverently. There were many sightings of members of other
local bands, Fox 31 was filming and Westword was reporting…
everyone
wanted to be part of this great story. At the end of the night I met the
Meese bothers’ parents (don’t forget there are two non-Meese’s in the
band as well- Ben and Michael, and they were augmented by an
additional
bass player last night), and I could see where these guys got thier
grounding. A really great family affair all the way around!
Thanks to everyone at WEA, Atlantic, Red Light, and the parents for
lending us these guys for a night.
