Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers 04/21/04

Independents Rule!
That was the message as indie phenomenoms Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers stormed Twist & Shout for a hot half hour of rock music and another 45 minutes of grippin' and grinnin'. Clyne, equal parts Springsteen and Petty-with a particular southwestern slant and a strong political edge, has an unbelievable grass-roots following (proven by the 150 or so rabid fans that jammed the aisles) and a strong belief in the independent brotherhood. He mentioned his beliefs about independents at least three times from the stage and in conversation with Twist owner Paul Epstein. We are extra-proud of this highly successful instore because it speaks so eloquently to our cause- --independence.
