Steve Earle at Twist & Shout!
Over Three Hundred activists, politicos, bomb-throwers and ,oh yeah,
music fans jammed Twist and Shout to drink in an amazing forty-five
minute set of acoustic songs by ultra-relevant artist Steve Earle on
Friday the 10th at 5:00 p.m. Earle performed songs from his new
album The Revolution Starts Now (which we sold 45 copies of)
as well as some older favorites. He did not shy away from controversy,
rapping about our President, Unions, The War in Iraq and anything else
that struck his fancy. A lucky few fans got to stay and have their cds
and custom posters signed and then Mr. Earle was off like a flash to
save the world elsewhere. This event made us feel like we were doing
more than just buying and selling music-it made us feel like we are a
forum for ideas and beliefs in our community.
