Instore Performance/Signing: February 22, 2014
Wrap-up for The Fray live at Twist and Shout on Saturday, February 22nd at 6pm
If I had to sum up The Fray live at Twist and Shout in one word, it would be: WOW. On Saturday, February 22nd we hosted one of our biggest and best in-store concerts. We had well over four hundred and twenty five people here to celebrate the release of their new album Helios. The CD and LP come out nationally tomorrow, but lucky Denver fans were able to get the album early during our event. We sold over three hundred and twenty copies of Helios on Saturday. They played a short set of songs from Helios as well as songs from How To Save A Life and Scars & Stories. The concert was an acoustic version of their live show; it was nice to hear these songs stripped down. Mid-performance lead singer Isaac Slade recalled his first in-store at Twist and Shout where he purchased copies of How to Save a Life and kept the security devices on them so he could remember them as they were found in the store. Isaac performed “Happiness” without his microphone, his voice echoed through the store as we all hushed, or sang along; it became a very intimate experience during the set. The fans were a wonderful, happy crowd, and we had a lot of fun with them. There were a lot of emotions during the evening from laughs, to tears of joy, to coo-ing over all of the adorable babies and children that were here. It just felt like a great big family reunion. The Fray was just so amazing during our epic meet and greet. They gave each person a special memory and we cannot thank them enough for taking their time to sign and take photos with our great customers. There was a lot of love in our store that night. I walked away feeling so proud of my amazing co-workers, the Fray and their fantastic crew, and the Denver music scene in general. I felt so lucky to be a part of this special evening with our friends the Fray.
